it was amazing

Helen Banks’ brother Martin is an incorrigible gambler, and he has contracted a debt of such magnitude, that he is challenged to a duel, because he cannot pay. Helen has decided to take his place, she can shoot as well as he can, and besides she can’t see a future for herself, whereas Martin, being a man, has more opportunities. The man she has to face is Gareth Fairfax. Helen is secretly in love with Gareth, but he never noticed the wallflower that she is.

During the duel, Helen manages to hit Gareth with a bullet, it only grazes him but he bleeds quite a bit. Then he realises his opponent is a woman, and not her brother. But still, Martin’s debt must be paid back, and when Gareth asks Helen to come home with him, she accepts. She is intrigued by the sexy Gareth, even though it might mean ruination. THE DUELIST’S SEDUCTION is a fascinating story, and even though it’s a novella the character development is extremely thorough. The mood is very sensuous, very sensual, and it is of course, superbly written.
