THE LOVELY BONES by Alice Sebold

This book didn't turn out how I expected it to, but that's a good thing - it's not fun if a book ends exactly the way you imagined it, right? It had a wonderful story full of powerful characters. I loved Susie, she's such a dynamic character, she really made the book what it was with her observations from above. I will admit there were some parts that didn't feel in place, or felt unnecessary, but for the most part I really enjoyed Susie's narration of all the happenings she was privy to. Definitely an interesting story, there were pieces I did not expect, and things I waited for that didn't come to pass. THE LOVELY BONES was tragic, hopeful, heartbreaking, and reassuring. A unique read. :)

"They would go back to their homes and put me to rest, a letter from the past never reopened or reread. And I would could say goodbye to them, wish them well, bless them somehow for their good thoughts."
