Excellent conclusion to the Chaos Walking trilogy. Todd, Viola, the Mayor, Mistress Lawson and the Spackle enter a three way war while improbable parental type relationships between the characters build. Who do you trust? All three groups say they want peace, yet bombs and attacks sabotage every effort. Do the Mayor, the Answer and the Spackle truly want peace or is it just the impossible dream of Todd and Viola to make the new world peaceful for the coming settlers? Can Todd retain control of his Noise, or is the Mayor playing him? Is there a cure for the bands before Viola becomes so infected she dies? This is a must read right up to the last word.
