*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Hachette Children’s Books and NetGalley*
Elizabeth Grey lives in Anglia, a land where witches are imprisoned and burned. She is a witch hunter, one of the best.
But then Elizabeth is found with something that only a witch would have and she's sentenced to death.
The most wanted wizard in Anglia, Nicholas Perevil, appears at Elizabeth's cell and offers her a deal - he will help her escape if she in return breaks the curse that is slowly killing him.
How will Elizabeth cope being surrounded by magic and those that have it when she's been taught to hate it and them?
Going into Witch Hunter I was pretty excited - a book about a witch hunter who is accused of being a witch and goes on the run, sounds good right? While I liked Witch Hunter I was a bit disappointed.
Elizabeth was a likeable, relatable protagonist and I liked most of the other characters.
The romance was sweet and not over the top.
The plot was good and there was a twist that I didn't see coming but I did lose interest in one place.
I do feel that Witch Hunter missed a trick but I enjoyed it overall.
