It was very interesting to read about how Narnia came about.

Robynn This was the first of the series that I read. Sometime in my youth I found a copy at a used book store and loved it. Did not realize for years that there were more. Though not the first of the series written I think it is the best one to start with. He wrote it because so many children wrote him wanting to know how the children had discovered Narnia in the first place. If you read the whole series, then a fun book to read is C. S. Lewis' Letters to Children.
