it was amazing
bookshelves: graphic-novels, humor, realistic

Sixth grader Raina thought having to get braces was a life-ending event. But when an accident causes her front teeth to get knocked out, she's in for a whole new level of trauma! Over the next four years she must go through several different stages to get her teeth fixed and back to (almost) normal. Providing a backdrop for this are events that mark the life of the typical teenage girl: finally getting her ears pierced, friend drama, boy drama, graduating from middle school, entering high school... It reminded me fondly of those years--minus the dental stuff--and I found myself laughing not just at the story, but at the memories it brought up. The whole package (the text and illustrations) deserves five stars!
