Maybe not such a random family considering the story of kingpin Boy George but random enough. The book depicts failed social policy at macro and micro levels and cycles of violence, neglect, abuse and substance abuse. It makes it hard to argue that we are not products of our environment and it's a tragedy for the kids growing up in these neighborhoods and homes.
