Guardian of the Dead
I bought this book (and had it signed) at AussieCon this year, and I'm so glad I did - it was one of my favourite books this year. A gorgeous YA fantasy/urban fantasy, the plot is a little complicated to summarise, so I won't. It's beautifully written, fast-paced, and incredibly heart breaking in moments (yes, I might have cried). I also found the Maori mythology really fascinating - Guardian of the Dead isn't really set up for a sequel, but I would love to read more set in this world.
