liked it

I have to admit that the cover of this book made me want to read it. I liked the premise of the story, but had a problem with the way Nora seemed to make really bad choices concerning her safety, especially since her father has recently been murdered. Nora and her mother live in an old farmhouse almost a mile outside of town and her mother regularly travels overnight on business. Nora is left alone way too often with only an elderly housekeeper for company during the day. Nora's life is shaken up when she gets a new biology partner named Patch. He seems to have no past and many secrets. Nora thinks something is not quite right abut Patch, but is both fascinated and repelled by him. Nora isn't sure if Patch wants to protect or kill her, but still finds herself seeking him out. By the end of the story we know some of Patch's secrets, but it seems that there will be many more revealed in the future.
