The Utopia of Rules: On Technology, Stupidity, and the Secret Joys of Bureaucracy
This was incredibly thought-provoking and interesting and I find myself wanting to go back to the beginning. Very meaty essays that meander seemingly aimlessly though disparate historical themes before tying themselves back up neatly into a bow, featuring the kind of social/anthropological analysis that does not necessarily blow your mind so much as clarify and sharpen your thinking in a way you didn't know you needed. Highly recommended.
