really liked it

This book is the true story of the author’s time with the notorious Hell’s Angels motorcycle club during their heyday. The essentially lived on the road and went everywhere with the Angels. The book is very exciting and also shows a great deal about the time period. It’s hard to believe at times that the events actually took place, but that’s because Thompson picked such extreme subject matter. This book taught me how real journalism can be. It showed me the importance of giving the facts with just enough insight as an observer. Thomson’s commentary on the Angels activities and the time period add a great deal to the tone of the book. Thompson got so close to the subject matter that he eventually fell victim to the Angels. I think this says a great deal about good journalism and dedicating yourself to the work.
