it was ok

After loving "Brodeck," I had big expectations. They were too high though.

Like "Brodeck," a precise and intriguing description of characters in a small town. But, unlike "Brodeck," lacking a certain driving force to the narrative. The prosecutor is very well drawn, as is the teacher. But the revelations at the end are disappointing, and, in some cases, had been obvious much earlier on.

I would have been just as happy reading a story solely about the narrator and his pregnant wife.
