Sophisticated For The Night by CJ Fallowfield – 5 Stars
*Gifted for an honest review* Reviewed by Klaire Sutherland for Two Ordinary Girls and Their Books
I do not have enough stars for this latest instalment from CJ. Seriously, when I read the synopsis for this I knew without a doubt that I was going to love it. I’ve been rooting for the real Logan Steel you see, desperately wanting to see the man behind him, his reality, the masks peeled away. Up until now we have only caught glimpses of who that man is but right here in this you get him. Lock, stock and barrel! And it starts with an admission….finally. He’s flustered and nervous about hijacking Summers night, worrying in case he is going to ruin it. The unflappable is suitably flapped! I loved this, yes I’ve already said that but I’m going to say it again. To see Logan Steele rocked to his boots by the beautiful Summer Beresford is really quite something. And the fact she feels the same just adds that little more. It’s so lovely to see them both carefree and being themselves out with the bedroom. This story is more about them as people than their occupations and together they absolutely shine. I found myself smiling a lot throughout this read, left a warm and fuzzy feeling in my chest. I was so enamoured with Summers reactions to things too, in such awe of the attention that Logan lavished on her. She felt cherished and I’m so glad she got to feel that way. Their “lovemaking” is languid and whilst steamy it’s more intimate to read than even their first time together. To see Logan in that light, letting go…you fall even harder for him. I did find it a little difficult to see Logan so unsure of himself at times though, his vulnerability was apparent at times and it just went to show that we don’t really know who the real man is. Whilst they part on good terms there’s a pervading sadness that I think may stay with me until they re-unite (if they do). Oh CJ, you grabbed me totally and utterly with this one. My absolute favourite of your series so far. And my fav line – “Am I in bed with Curious George?” Really, swooning
