This book was good, and I learned a lot about the refugee experience in America, but it should have gone into more detail about the refugees and their stories of adjustment to life in the US; those were by far the best parts. The descriptions of the soccer games were really too detailed. And, in the end, structuring the narrative around the soccer season fell flat for me.
