Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom
There's not really even enough in the book to comment on. I thought it was trite, trivial, and shallow, which it seems isn't all that far off from what the Bitchun Society might be, and so, for that, I applaud Mr. Doctorow, but as far as a fascinating story, this is not one. And really, way to not have an interesting discussion on cloning, backing-up, retiring, uploading... for the person who is left over after the back-up, how are they not dead? Properly dead? And why would anyone be okay with that? Bunk.
