it was amazing
bookshelves: adult, historical, non-fiction, war

When an author can make history come alive and read like fiction, I'm hooked. I had never read anything by Erik Larson before this book, but he is a gifted writer whose writing is fluid, intelligent, and captivating -- that I couldn't put this book down, despite knowing the ending for the Lusitania -- attests to the power of the writing.

I won an ARC of this book in a publisher's giveaway, and it's the first time in a long time I've been super excited to read non-fiction. Not at all disappointed.
