I know it may shock some of you that I'm so behind on my reading list, but this was the first time I'd read Uncle Tom's Cabin. One of my profs warned me that it may take some getting used to and that students found it difficult to engage with the text. Therefore, I was taken by surprise when the narrative ended up speaking into contemporary issues of social injustice and discrimination with profound clarity and fervor. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend that you pick up a copy. It is well worth the time and may just inspire you to reexamine your own views.

Laura Do you own this book? If so, I would like to borrow it. And I won't even drop it in the bathtub.
