This was a beautiful story of two kids growing up during WWII in Seattle. Henry is a Chinese boy, Keiko is a Japanese girl. Both consider themselves American, but many of the white kids around them don't consider them that at all. The story is well written and evokes the feeling of the time and place. The story switches back and forth between Seattle in the 1940's and in the 1980's. Lovely.
