liked it

My first book by Neil Gaiman. I Didn't love this book as much as I thought I would. It seemed like I was willing my brain to believe it was more spectacular than the book believed itself to be. There was an essence of 'This is what happened and that's it'. One has to have quite an imagination to read this book. You feel as if Gaiman didn't feel as if it was special or even good enough to completely capture the reader... It felt quite self conscious. It was as if there was a barrier between the author in his own world and the reader, who so truly wanted to be in that world also...
Don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy the book, I just wish Gaiman knew how much more enjoyable the book was going to be for it's readers.
