it was amazing

Is innocence all that innocent?
Fascinating book. Hated the subject matter but what a compelling read. The characters were so well developed and refined, and written so well together. The subtleties and nuances of the narrative were so delicate and flavourful they enveloped you in a world resonating in your mind so clearly. I feel like I know where the story was set. I felt like I were there.
Ian is such a talented writer, of pace, of dialogue, of the moment. His craft has whittled this book down to the essentials and in doing so makes writing appear so effortless. Nothing over verbose or unneeded. Simple lines of communication. Wonderful.
