This book was ok for me. I enjoyed the plot: a man rediscovered and redefined his relationship with his comatose wife and two young daughters. There was, however, something missing for me. I didn't feel like the book had sucked me in. I can empathize with Matt when he found out that his wife, Joanie, had been cheating on him. This news changed how he defined their relationship. And I do feel for him, since he could never get a full closure... not even when he found out that her lover, Brian Speer, didn't even love her back. Revenge just didn't equate to closure. But even with my empathy for him, the book was still missing that oomph for me. I did like how Hemmings threw in Sid. I thought he was a great ice-breaker. I didn't, however, like it when Matt asked Sid what he should do. It was rather inappropriate for me (though may be it showed Matt's vulnerability?) Another thing I didn't get was the whole "descendants." I didn't get why it was a big deal.

Overall, it was a decent book. Entertaining.
