This review is going to discuss sexual assault. Take a moment if you need one, or just skip this one.

I very much wish that I hadn't read the portions of this book that I did. It begins interestingly enough with an inexplicable bout of contagious blindness that takes a quick turn for the horrific as all those stricken with blindness are confined to an abandoned psych ward. The writing is beautiful and poetic which makes the brutality that exists on the ward all the more horrific. I stopped after the stomach turning gang-rape scene, which lead me to believe that the writer is a fucking pervert asshole who likely got off on both the writing of that vile scene and the thought that it would be subsequently widely read. I think that because of the poetic, erotic language that he uses to describe the scene throughout, and as a result I have decided that he is likely a very bad person and I won't read anything else he has written.
