I wrote this book not long after my father passed away. It was a very hard time for me, and I found it very difficult to write. At the time, I had a crazy labradoodle puppy. She was into a lot of mischief, but she helped me to laugh again. I began writing about her and found it easier to write. So I added her to Facelift, as the loveable Cousin It. So I am forever grateful to Hilo (my sweet labradoodle who I often refer to as the Hilo Monster on my Facebook page). I am also grateful to Hilo because she helped my father to laugh, when there wasn't much to laugh about during his final stages of cancer.
