i just love charlaine harris so so much. sookie is great and all, but my favorite series by harris are her 'grave' books starring harper connelly. and *this* is sort of spin-off of the harper world. the mc is a friend of harper's, manfred bernardo, who fell in love with harper. now he's moved on to midnight, texas and finds himself in a mystery. i *love* harris' world building. it's packed with exquisitely peculiar people who you really want together with over a mint julep on the veranda. the mystery isn't really the main focus: yes, it drives the story, but it's the characters you love. i really didn't want it to end. here's hoping ms. charlaine continues this series!
