** spoiler alert ** This book is about a girl named Remy Starr trying to find herself but she has many problems with boys, friends, and her family. Remy also has problems trusting others because her father left her when she was just born. Her father is a singer and wrote a song that was a great hit but unfortunately Remy hates listening to it. Remy then meets Dexter Jones, a musician, while her mom, Barbara, also falls in love. But Remy doesn't like the new boyfriend and like mother like daughter they both fall in love with musicians with ups and downs in their relationships. Dexter also works at a photo shop because he wants to earn more money and he shows Remy pictures of her mom's boyfriend cheating on her. Now Remy begins to trust Dexter. Towards the end Remy hears Dexter play "This Lullaby" which is the song her father wrote and she tears up running to the bathroom because of all the painful memories it gave her. My favorite part would be the part where Dexter sings the song because i had a feeling he was going to sing it and he did! (p 209)
