it was amazing
bookshelves: graphic-novel, young-adult

I first discovered the series when a friend proposed playing the Mouse Guard RPG. I loved the artwork in the RPG manual and I thought I'd get a better handle on the game if I read the stories first.

I loved it. It's one of those wonderful books that can work for children or adults. Honestly, I think adults or at least teens will get more out of it. Even though it's cute mice it's really not for the kids who normally get picture books read to them. Lovely art and interesting story.

Amber I fell in love with this book in the store because the artwork was so amazing. I also think it tells a wonderful story in very few words. Someday I'm going to try to crochet the guard mice and give them little plastic swords.

Another beautiful graphic novel that I highly recommend is The Arrival by Shaun Tan. It's a completely silent story told only through the art. If you haven't read it already, it's worth checking out.
