really liked it
bookshelves: ancient-history
Read 2 times. Last read January 1, 1975.

I read this while writing thesis on mutilation and recurrence in the Iliad. An excellent piece. Those who haven't read the book but seen movies or have vague Classic Comics notion believe Iliad glorifies war . Weil makes the argument for loss of humanity, embrace of impiety and vice , andnd some reconciliation at the end. I recommend an audiovox of Homer and quiet place to let words sink in.
