This book is extraordinary! Told from an interesting narrator's point of view, this book tells a story of a town in Germany during WWII. Liesel, the main character, has been through a lot of tragedy for such a young age. Yet, she finds liberation and healing through the power of words and reading and has the amazing ability to make unlikely friends. This story is powerful, emotional, and paints a story through Zusack's words. Content is appropriate for ages 11 and up.
