Wow where to begin. I have heard such great things about this book that perhaps I was expecting something that wasn't going to be. Expectations too high that I was disappointed and let down. Though I love the hero (Jamie) the story itself seems cheesy. The main issue I have with the telling of the story is it is way to graphic in some places. I don't need to know about all the torture and you really don't have to tell about Randal and Jamie in the cell. Actually I believe Jamie would have killed the guy with no qualms about it. Giving his word or not. It wasn't his personnality to just sit there. I really dislike it when authors change a characters personnality to hype a storyline. I probably will read the next in the series but I'm not in any hurry.

Shelly I am having some of the same issues with this book. I feel like I should love it because soo many people rave about it. I think it's interesting, but lots of things I'm not crazy about. I'm barely halfway through the audio, I can only handle so much of it at a time!

Katherine Oh good, I'm not alone. Sometimes it's hard to give a review when everyone has loved the book.

Tiana Harris I really didn't like the graphic scenes, and really hated the Randall/Jaimie scene, which I actually cut out of my audio tape. I read Outlander years ago and the first time I read it I was very disappointed in quite a few things. Through the years I have read all of the series and I guess it grows on you. I have really liked them all but really wish she didn't put quite so many details in them.

Katherine I agree Tiana. Sometimes less is more. I like the actual time travel adventures. I have the second in the series but will wait a little while before reading. Hope you are getting some sleep before those twins show up. LOL
