it was ok

** spoiler alert ** I finally finished reviewing all thirty books I read in July while I was off work for the summer. Now that I'm back at work (sigh), I won't be zipping through quite so many books. Unfortunately, the first book I read was not fantastic. Mimi Shapiro, fleeing from an over-eager married professor whom she mistakenly was in a relationship with, decides to get away and crash at her Dad's Canadian cottage. She relishes the thought of solitude. Instead, she finds the cottage being used by a half brother she never knew existed. They quickly become friends despite never knowing about each other and they work to uncover the mystery of who is breaking into the cottage and taking things. They discover a third (slightly deranged) sibling (boy, their dad sure got around) who is part of it all. The book tried really hard to be spooky and suspensful, but it just didn't get there for me.
