it was ok
bookshelves: collectibles, read-2011, non-fiction

I was excited to look at this book and somehow I wanted to like it more as I do remember going to the feed store as a child and selecting various patterns of material from the feed sacks. Apparently it depended on what section of the country one lived in as to the print of the bags as none of the ones pictured have I ever seen. The author did include less "glamorous" pics of bank cloth bags, shot bags, sugar sacks, various brands of flour bags, salt, rice and seed bags.
All of these bags/sacks were made of cloth long before the paper and plastic verisons. Many of these items continue to come up for bid at country auctions. This is the only title I know of on this topic so perhaps it is a really good book, but I still wanted to like it more.
