Less original or enjoyable than the first, yet still bloody good.

I did begin to have misgivings, though, as I read it. It seems to me to be a book in need of a good editor and maybe a second draft. Obviously, circumstances made that impossible. But the way the identity of the killer in revealed almost as an aside bothered me.

And the misogynistic language, although clearly reflecting his theme, began to be a bit too prevalant and started to make me feel maybe he was allowing his theme to drive his decisions a bit more than perhaps he should.

Not major problem, but niggles. As I say - read like a penultimate draft to me.
