really liked it

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the human spirit and the will to survive horrible circumstances shines through and I was happy to be able to embrace the story in the spirit it was written.

Jacquelin I really loved this book also, Beth Ann. The characters have stayed with me.

Beth Ann I agree with the characters being very real. I was not sure I would like it because I am just not into history and thinking about sad times like this but it was very compelling.
