really liked it

Let me begin by saying . . . I am not a fan of YA literature. I put off reading this book for years because I understood it to be YA fiction. After reading it, I still think that, yes . . . this book is YA fiction. Top quality YA fiction, for sure. But still, YA fiction.

Now that I got that out of the way. . . I thought this was a very well-done (YA) novel. Honest and refreshing – with strong characters, a poignant storyline, and full of all the best parts of love, hope, and redemption.

I love the author’s language and writing style (so many quotable gems in this novel!). I love how she gave June such a refreshing outlook and a strong voice.

Highly recommended.
