liked it

I enjoyed this, but I don't think I'd ever read it again. I think I expected more of a science-fiction "this is how the world ends", which this book is not. That's not anything *wrong* with the book, just a matter of mismatched expectations. The apocalypse happens because the story needs it and it's best to not study the details too closely. And the flu that kills off most of humanity is the only sci-fi element at all.

Past that it was an enjoyable read and it wasn't super-depressing which is rare for an end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it story.
