really liked it

When I read the back cover and saw that the main character, Jana, was running from her past, I assumed that she had committed a terrible crime, or grew up in a dysfunctional family, or something like that. The real reason why she's running never even crossed my mind.

When she meets the hunky hockey player, sparks fly. But she's afraid to drag him into her situation by revealing her past, and he's afraid that she will crush his dreams. In a way, though, they need each other. She needs a person to lean on for a little while, and he needs someone he can trust with his secret.

I liked the plot, and the flow of the story. I was disappointed in how short it was, though. In a short story so many events occur in such a short amount of time, and although I don't think the author, Kerri Nelson, left anything out, I just wish the story took a little bit longer to tell. What I especially liked was the beginning. I felt as if I was there with Jana, and I was as scared as she was.

This was a good, quick read. You can read it on the train into work, or during your lunch breaks.
