really liked it
bookshelves: fun-fiction-ya, fairy-tale-retold

3.5 Stars. Good book. I love fairy tale retellings.
Very interesting retelling of Rumpelstiltskin. A bit darker than I anticipated, I really felt like the hope was slowly being sucked out of the story. I usually get emotionally envolved with characters and it was hard for me when the female lead character (Charlotte) would make poor/hasty decisions. This book nearly lost my interest in a few places because I was frustrated with the Charlotte's choices. I was very irritated that she didn't turn to her husband more in the 2nd half of the book.
Everything ended well, but I was getting nervous that it wouldn't as the last pages came closer and closer.
I liked it.
