it was amazing

I had no idea until six months after I finished this that Joe Hill was one of Stephen King's three kids. I think that may be a good thing -- it would have made me gun shy. I loved this -- completely and with no hesitation. Smart, sassy, gritty, gutsy, and bizarre. I read ghost story novels and haunted house novels as a passion -- I mean PASSION. I've read just about every ghost novel ever written, and it's genuinely a compliment for me to say that this one re-writes the rules, follows its own path, and actually fits somewhere in between "literature" and NY Times bestseller. I won't say a word about the characters, the plot, or the tone. You have to meet them for yourself to appreciate it, but Joe Hill's books are now welcome to my bedside table any time.
