This was a fantastic, fascinating story about seeing China through modern perception.

Each chapter is set by itself, each one a little tidbit about how things are, and what it means, and yet each story builds and folds in on the others until there is a greater meaning in all the little tidbits.

It was amazing to see the compare and contrast between young and old, women and men, those who leave, those who return, and many other aspects that make everyone a little bit different from each other.
