it was amazing
bookshelves: currently-reading, green-building

I love this book. It is a delight to read and the pictures are beautiful. It is also chocked full of good, sensible ideas about how to build and eco-friendly home. The house designs are elegant and comfortable and just the right size.

The Breeze House is my favorite. Author and architect, Michelle Kafumann, has such a way of using windows and flooring to bring the outdoors inside and to expand the perception of space to twice its actual size. I would love to live "off the grid" but I also enjoy my personal comfort. I'd call the houses in the book "deluxe off-the-grid." Breezes, sunlight, moonlight, rainstorms can all be enjoyed from a cozy reading chair in front of a fire. Oh, and it has a library with built-in bookshelves!
