Gabriele Goldstone This book’s a page-turner. It’s set in my hometown of Winnipeg. I can no longer go to The Forks in our city centre without feeling like I’ll bump into the characters of 'empty cup'. That’s how authentic these characters feel. This story begins with horror and while the intense beginning does not (thankfully) continue...the pacing and the tension kept me reading chapter after chapter until the end. So, yes, it’s a difficult book to read. Edgy. Emotional. Raw. The author does an amazing job of letting the reader live through the character’s problems and vulnerabilities. Teenage rape is not an easy subject. Ever. Well done and highly recommended for older teens.

Plus, the author offers her teen readers support at the end. A caring touch.
