I'm not a big fan of epistolary novels. This book didn't turn me into a fan. While the character names are pretty amusing (Ignatius B. Grumply -- mean-spirited author, Anita Sale -- real estate agent, Olive C. Spense -- ghost), that's where my enjoyment ended. I can't see the patrons at my library being truly amused by this book because it's a ghost story without being scary. There's no suspense. No gore. And there's not even a doubt about the development of the plot. I finished the book only because I dislike leaving things undone. Many people mentioned Lemony Snicket, which is somewhat fair. But I found the Lemony Snicket books to be really witty. And this wasn't.

Wait, there are two good things about this book -- the illustrations are cute.
