Very well written book. It gives a fascinating account of lives lead by princes under the British Raj. The author has succeeded in drawing realistic character sketches through the situations that take place in the course of time. The ups and downs of the a life filled with grandeur and power are very well depicted. Anita Delgado's struggle as a the Maharani amidst the societal pressures of the then Indian community has been portrayed very realistically. The Maharaja's character is very enchanting. The writer has done a great job in showing the relationships of the characters, and the changes they all go through.
The story can be regarded as a work of fiction based on facts. I time traveled reading the book and thoroughly enjoyed each bit of it!
