The character development in the book is thoughtful and detailed and could probably be compared with some of the classics. The plot, however, instead of being akin to the classics is probably more appropriately compared to "chick-lit." Maybe I am not giving it enough credit--maybe the "lightness" of the plot stems from the fact that the book and its plot are modern and take place in modern-day NYC. At any rate, it is a quick read but a decent book.
