A poetic novel depicting the intricacies of a family torn apart by tragedy. The book reads a little like a mystery novel, slowly unfolding the events that behind the death of the daughter Lydia, but focuses more intensely on the interpersonal relationships of a family built upon misunderstandings and miscommunication. Although the story jumps between characters and different vantage points the writing is clear and effective at communicating the mindset of each circumstance. Not a happy read for sure, but a decent book overall.
