really liked it

This is an intelligent and very witty debut novel. It's set in a college town in New England where Academia runs amuck over the publication of poetry. Flora, who is 28, has just lost her beloved father and he has designated her as his literary executor. She doesn't want the job. The book is filled with interesting characters, including a dog who understands 100 words. Flora's mother is outrageous and hilarious. Some readers will see deeply held beliefs described and then later question them. Some will dislike Flora, who is grieving in her own way. It isn't a page turner, just a good read for book lovers.
