I discovered Jocelynn Drake in the Unbound anthology. The short story was good enough without prior knowledge of the main characters that I had to seek out the source material. I was not disappointed with either one of these books (this edition hold books 1 and 2 in case you missed it). Mira, our heroine, is almost unapologetically flawed. She fights to keep nightwalkers and other supernatural beings from being discovered by the general human population. Of course, since all she wants is to live her life away from the ruling body of the nightwalkers over in Venice, she gets drawn into an international hunt for those who would destroy our world forcing her to work for/with the Coven. She also ends up changing her solo life in ways she never imagined.
