Lori Is it worth reading?

Terence This is my second attempt to reply to your comment. The first had a "problem saving" (gritting teeth :-)

Okay - to read or not to read?

That depends upon whether or not you liked Zeroville, which I see that you did. But I don't think this is the novel to get deeper into Erickson's work.

It's purportedly an account of the author's cross-country journey during the 1988 presidential campaign but too much of it reads like a nonfiction essay about the political zeitgeist of the late '80s. On the other hand, the novelistic parts of the novel are fun to read. I thought he had some interesting insights about America's past and - unfortunately - his take on the state of the union in 1988 is even more true today.

I'd try Tours of the Black Clock or Arc d'X first (or any of the other books I've 3-starred).

Lori Thanks for the suggestions, I definitely want to read more from him, he's got a great imagination. I'll pass on this, I'm a fiction girl these days.
