Infinite is a good word; this book is long. It took me the better part of a year to get through, and there are several interwoven stories that take some remembering if you've put the book down for too long. It all comes together in the end though... ish... that's really the jest part. I think I remember laughing out loud when I came to the end... jest indeed.

There is one particularly brilliant chapter - entirely a monologue from father to son re: economy of motion. Absolutely brilliant. Makes my knees ache just thinking about it.
