really liked it

This is way out of my usual reading zone...I am not a big fan of comics; the pictures distract me from the story. I am not a fan of horror or of vampires. But I enjoyed this book. Go figure.

The story actually leans more on the original Pinocchio story than the Disney version, and the author's actually suggest reading the original. Their story takes place 'sometime later' (after Gepetto has been killed by...

There is humor here, the drawing is not too graphic (being in black and white helps), and the mechanism by which Pinocchio is able to dispense with the vampires is quite amusing. Several characters from the original story make an appearance. It is a quick read; I would recommend it for grade 6 and up, and I think the amusement factor is enhanced if one has read the original story.
